I'm not sure what kind of flower produced this seed-head, but I think it was a cornflower. If you know better, I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment and tell me.

Hard to tell without seeing the flower clearly, but referring to my copy of "Plants and Animals of Iceland" by Gensbol and Feilberg the best I can match the photo to is the Alpine catchfly (Ljósberi).
