Spákonufellsborg is a mountain with many faces. Here it is seen from the north, with horses clustered around a pile of hay in the foreground. These hardy little horses are kept outside in the winter when they are not being used for riding, in which case they are stabled. They get regular feeding to supplement the winter grazing and when there is snow on the ground they are fed daily. They also have shelter where they go when the weather isn't good.
